Data Deletion Instructions

Cleo respects your right to control your data. You can request complete deletion of all data associated with your account at any time. This page explains how.

Facebook Login users

If you signed up for Cleo using Facebook Login, you can request deletion of all data Cleo received from Facebook and all data associated with your Cleo account. When you request deletion, we permanently remove:

  • Your Facebook user ID and any profile information obtained via Facebook Login
  • Any ad account data synced through your Meta (Facebook) integration
  • All content, documents, and analytics associated with your Cleo organisation
  • Conversation history with the Cleo AI assistant
  • Any stored OAuth tokens for the Meta integration

How to request data deletion

Option A — From your Cleo account

  1. Sign in to your Cleo account at cleoos.io
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll to Data & Privacy
  4. Click Delete my account and all data
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted

This immediately begins the deletion process. All data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Option B — Via email

If you cannot access your account or prefer to request deletion by email, send a message to:

privacy@cleoos.io

Include the email address associated with your Cleo account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.

Option C — Remove Cleo from Facebook

You can also revoke Cleo's access directly from Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook App Settings
  2. Find Cleo in the list of apps
  3. Click Remove

When you remove Cleo from Facebook, we are notified and will delete all data received from Facebook. If you also want your full Cleo account data deleted, please use Option A or B above.

What data is deleted

When you request full account deletion, we permanently remove all data associated with your account and organisation, including:

  • Account profile and authentication credentials
  • Organisation settings and team memberships
  • All documents (brand strategy, marketing plans, content plans, etc.)
  • Generated content (text, images, video)
  • Email marketing data (contacts, campaigns, templates, automations)
  • Advertising data (campaign configurations, performance history)
  • Conversation history and AI-generated recommendations
  • Calendar and scheduling data
  • Analytics snapshots and intelligence findings
  • Integration tokens and connection records
  • Vector embeddings and search indexes
  • Billing records (except where retention is required by law)

Deletion timeline

Data deletion is processed as follows:

  • Immediate: Your account is deactivated and you are signed out
  • Within 24 hours: All active integrations are disconnected and OAuth tokens are revoked
  • Within 30 days: All data is permanently removed from our databases, storage, and backups

Once deletion is complete, the data cannot be recovered. We will send a confirmation email to the address on file when the process is finished.

Retention exceptions

In limited cases, we may retain certain data beyond the deletion period where required by law, such as:

  • Financial transaction records required for tax or accounting compliance
  • Data subject to a legal hold or ongoing investigation

Any retained data is kept only for the minimum period required by the applicable obligation and is not used for any other purpose.
